I don’t know about you all, but the renders didn’t really prepare me for how tall this was going to be. Drove into the city on the pike this afternoon, and boy does this loom.
Here I was thinking, as actual resident of the area, that it appears way to squat. No disrespect meant, but this is a whole different deal if you actually live here.

Wow, really? I get that being 10-20ft below street level skews the view a little, but isn’t it at least 3x the height of adjacent buildings?

Also, do you go to Berklee?

I'm in my 40's so no I don't go to Berkeley. I live close enough to see it from my home though. To me, it is just in this gray area where it's clearly taller than the buildings around it (not for long), but it's too short to be considered a "tall" building. For instance it's shorter than the new building in Union Square. But more importantly it's shorter than the Liberty Mutual Building and 200 Berkeley St. and it's brother on Boylston, which I always considered the sort of "level" for the mid rises in Back Bay.

That extra height that you speak of from the Pike, if it was added to the top of the building, than yeah, I think that would change my opinion

I'm not sure if this is all the way down to the Pike, or just to Boylston, but all 5 points in the FAA show between 330'-352'.

While this shows the old colors, the NPC made it clear that there were no changes to height. You can see the 298' doesn't include mech, which is pretty typical for the initial heights we are provided on many/most projects.

The new one at Union is 297' to the top. Liberty Mutual is 335'. 200 Berkeley is tough to judge because it uses a spire to reach 495'. Overall though this project is taller than you seem to think that it is.

FWIW, Parcel 12 will be/is 324.80" to the tip-top, according to Emporis [https://www.emporis.com/buildings/1550170/parcel-12-office-building-boston-ma-usa]
