The lead time on that kind of custom stone is insane. They’ll either wrap the column in a cheapo aluminum plate or stainless steel cylinder and call it a day or they’ll leave it nude for a few months while the stone is fabricated again.
As someone who gets to stay at MT twice a year, I can tell you none of the residents (and me) care. Let's just say, the roof impacts exactly 0% of their lives. They care more about the fact that management is no longer providing cups for their complimentary morning coffee in the lounge than they do the roof.Still really odd to me that Millenium, the folks paying a fortune to live in MT, and the city of Boston are all fine with that absurd, unfinished roof.
Sure. Opinions differ. I’ve stayed at MT a few times and both I and my friends who live there fucking hate that the roof is incomplete and looks ridiculous from the South. As someone who gets to stay at MT twice a year, I can tell you none of the residents (and me) care. I don't really follow your point. You're a dude who hangs out here and it apparently doesn't bother you. So, back to my original point: opinions differ.Something something bias.
You're a dude that hangs out on a niche architecture forum, of course it bothers you.

My take: the unfinished roof looks cheap and shitty.
You (and plenty others): it looks fine.
Fair enough.
Because I think both towers are remarkable and an awesome addition to the city. There’s no point continuing to argue over matters of taste. Why don't we all agree both towers are unremarkable in massing and style, promised far more by way of building amenities/local improvements than was produced, and Boston will likely tap MP for another one due to our fine city's deep, deep-seated love of design that doesn't spook the horses?

It does look shitty. But absolutely no one who's not already on this board has ever thought about it, or maybe even noticed it. I'm guessing that's what he means.
