Looks great! I’m not big on the whole staircase seating here, though. There are places where this works, but this specifically is a poor placement for it. Before and after games there will be big crowds coming through there and the larger staircase will be needed. And not to sound too much like an alarmist, but this when it’s wet and dark with drunk fans moving through… looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen. It at least needs a bench at the top to clearly delineate where the stairs are
 
So let's just keep proposing zoning changes for height, everywhere. Seems like a chill idea.

Also, Boston friggin loves outdoor stairs.

I'm not sure there will be big crowds on the stairs, since all that's up there is a few retail outlets. The feed into Jersey Street from the Alley will be all at-grade.
 
An update on the project from The Boston Sun (May 25th) info regarding linkage funds, the renovation of a "duck house" in the Fens park, a BIPOC commitment and indicates the next BPDA meeting. Also mentioned, the developer is waiting for a Fenway transportation study to be completed by the City. Hopefully it does not affect the development to much (parking etc.) Here is a link to the last 2001 study Fenway transportation study. The study has a lot of recommendations including an east end head house at Kenmore Station at Kenmore St a pedestrian connection over the turnpike to Lansdown as an alternative to Brookline Ave.

So what exactly got approved here? The first tranche of buildings? Or the whole thing?
 
A random sports host on the radio was complaining specifically about the Lansdowne Block portion. Notice that it's the lowest/longest building proposed. He said it resembled a cruise ship and lamented that it all but completely blocked the view of Fenway from the Pike.

Will Landsdowne still have bars and other nightlife or will this building complete replace it with offices and/or apartments.

My recollection from the many public meetings/IAGs is ground level (or, ground level+, aka HOB) retail engagement; upper floors TBD with an evaluation of market demand at such time when they redevelop Landsdowne.

And in the Globe recently was a story about the invention of Technicolor and the connection with the film processing lab at 110 Brookline Avenue back in 1915,another
building slated for demo.

Had some mild apprehensions about their plans with that block before, but this puts me at ease. Maybe the least respected opinions available are that of sports radio hosts, the lowest of the low.
 
So. . . the Citgo sign isn't going to be visible from inside the ballpark after this, is it? As much as people here would scoff about that, that's going to be a big deal.

Depends on the retrofit which will happen (not if, but when?).
