I had to chuckle about how your comment perfectly matches your screen name. But all kidding aside, you raise a good point. I would think a short duration for the cars, parked carefully so as to not tear up or dig into the turf, would be an acceptable use.

They were probably referring to the impact of vehicles as it relates to soil compaction, which is a problem on the common, which inhibits grass from growing back.

That said, this is probably no worse than any other event on the common that brings lots of foot traffic - dense crowds are likely worse for the turf than a handful of cars. Plus, a lot of them are relatively lightweight - stares at the maybach in the background - Something like this is fine as occasional programming for the Common, its not as if its being used as a parking lot, more of a temporary pop-up motor muesum.

(That said, looking at the pics posted... I have questions about the judgement of the show organizers for what cars got an invite.)
