Allston-Brighton Infill and Small Developments

45 Bartlett and 5 Washington are uncomfortably too close to one another. The windows look right into the other building, and also, some of the windows of 45 Bartlett have views into the parking garage of 5 Washington. Im sure these are expensive buildings to live in, but with some of the units, you aren't getting views to go along with the price.
45 Bartlett is 40B so it got shoehorned in there. Those lower units with views of the garage will most likely be the starter units priced "affordably" starting at 1.1M. A lot of units are under agreement - Bartlett web site I will say the staggered layout was smart so the unit windows are not looking directly at a CMU wall or directly into other neighboring units.

“The Zoning Board of Appeal yesterday granted Anwar Faisal's Alpha Management Corp. the variances it needs to build a six-story, 36-unit apartment building next to its existing four-story, 28-unit building it already owns at 80 Gardner St. in Allston.

The 64-unit complex will share a 26-space parking lot.….”

Looks good but in a just world alpha management would be fined/sued out of existence and their property expropriated - one of the most famous slumlords around

Developers win approval for new hotel in middle of major project they've mostly yet to start in Allston

Rendering of proposed seven-story hotel

“The Zoning Board of Appeal today approved plans to replace an auto-parts store at 393 Cambridge St. in Allston with a seven-story, 96-room hotel.

City Realty's proposed hotel would eventually be wrapped by other buildings in its long delayed Allston Square project along and near the intersection of Cambridge Street and Harvard Avenue.

The proposed hotel would have no parking, save for four valet spots meant for quick loading and unloading of ride-share cars and taxis…..”
