Just a side note, why are Frontier and Avelo still on.the outside sign? Is there hope they will be back so they don't have to update the sign?

From Paul Bradbury this morning:

* Late fall is when the Gates 3-7 jetways will be replaced to coincide with the end of the peak season. This much needed replacement project also had to be scheduled around the summer apron reconstruction.

* The new food and beverage concession construction will commence on November 3rd. This project also had to be planned after the busy tourist season was over.

* PWM's new administration offices are planned to open in September of 2027 but Paul expects the move will happen well ahead of schedule.

* As far as the Frontier and Avelo signage, maintenance has just not got around to it yet due to all the higher priority needs going on at the terminal.

FIS station just waiting on funding?

Enplanement numbers for CY 2025 were released on Friday and I included PWM through BGR for your viewing pleasure. As expected HVN (#121) has just barely surpassed BTV (#122) and MHT (#124) with BGR improving to (#150) overall. The New England big three remain the same with BOS at (#16), BDL at (#54) and PVD at (#71).

Not sure? I deleted the soccer photo yesterday and the site was acting up so I must have deleted two at the same time.
 
Enplanement update for CY26: Through May 31, PWM totaled 774,438 passengers compared to 791,052 during the same period last year. This is a decline of 16,614 which can hopefully be made up with a busier summer and fall season that will include United's flights to the west coast.

Airlines have cut back on a number of flights including ord, lga, jfk, ewr as an overall decrease. I would wish swa would use pwm to bna as an alternative to build during the off months. Still, pwm is missing the boat 🚢 to fll and Mia for cruises. I am surprised not seeing vrb, which was a busy route for elite. There is alot of opportunities for winter birds to florida or to vegas
 
I'm really surprised that there is no flights from Portland to either MIA, PBI or FLL. Would think that any airline that steps up and commits to Florida's east coast with consistent service should be a winner unless the schedulers know something about Maine travel habits that I don't.

July 4th afternoon snapshot of flights arriving and departing PWM. Pretty cool to see two 738 MAX aircraft 20 minutes apart originating from LAX and SFO. The United non stop to IAH has been upgraded to an A320 and Delta's 739ER is well on its way to MSP!
 
These numbers got crushed (as did all other airports) due to the national craziness surrounding aviation and TSA. Jan-Mar had a bunch of cancellations after a few airline disasters and more due to the hubs getting smoked during the shutdowns.
No doubt PWM is still in a fantastic place! Love seeing these Saturday schedules packed full of flights from across the country.

Some old plates from my North Carolina days that I had on my first two cars which were a 1977 Honda Civic and then a 1979 Honda Accord! The "First In Flight" plate actually was my parents and they applied for it after I moved to Florida and no longer needed NC tags. The extremely rare "Follow the gull to downtown Portland" sign is one of the few remaining reminders of how time consuming it was to get into the city center prior to the addition of Interstate 295. Was not into airports back then and I'm not sure how many people would actually correlate "PWM" on a plate to our airport but I do like it.

The Guiding Gull! That's a prize! Although I'm not sure that Congress St. from the Jetport is much slower than going all the way to 295 near Broadway.
