This build and the next door soon-to-be-completed Crewe Arts Center, the upcoming PMA addition, the completed new Maine Medical one, and the new Roux campus gives Portland some decent and grand new architecture. What other cities in New England other than Boston are seeing recent comparable activity? It's of a good diverse nature too with the arts, housing, medicine, and technology. Keep it going.

New construction in Portsmouth is consistently well designed. They’ve seen steady residential and commercial development for several years now.

New buildings in Providence tend to resemble more of what we see in Portland but there are some cool projects in the pipeline such as these:

Parcel 1A

And the pedestrian bridge completed a few years ago is one of the nicest new public spaces I’ve seen in New England

It's hard to see this with the fence in the way. I had to reach up and over. I sincerely hope they paint and trim the little white house next door. It seems like an eyesore, or perhaps a shocking incongruity. And what about the contrast with the new building's advanced siding? Some of it is lighter than others? Or is it from the clouds and sky reflections? It's a light gray or aluminum-like (anodized) color on top and darker or taupe on the bottom. Not sure about that. Hopefully the building will be beautifully landscaped by Labor Day. Usually with new builds, it's a month or two after looking at fresh dirt.
