This was officially submitted over 4 years ago. Not only aren't there shovels in the ground, but it's still going through the approval process!!! I don't understand how this even happens.

Construction of the Project can begin upon the completion and occupancy of the new Simmons Living and Learning Center on the Simmons Academic Campus, which allows the existing uses on the Residence Campus to be relocated. The first quarter of 2027 is the earliest that the Proponent anticipates commencing construction of the Project. p1-10

Rumor has it they wildly messed up their financial projections and can't finance planting a daffodil, much less this. Apparently they're offering hundreds of SF of space to other schools of the Fenway to coverage a massive $$ gap.
 
Depending on how the financial agreement was structured between Simmons and the developer, Simmons may have absolutely nailed the top of the market for lab space.

For Simmons' sake, I really hope they got their cash already and don't have to wait for a market rebound.
