How much "extra" does it cost to do hand-laid brick vs pre-cast panels of quasi-brick materials?
Seems like the tide changed in the last couple years and it’s now cheaper to hand lay bricks. A bunch of projects have done it recently. There’s no way this project chooses the more expensive option if you ask me

And I've obviously not paid close attention to this project, because I didn't even realize it was on Ave Louis Pasteur until I saw that shot. I haven't really spent any time on that street since my youngest graduated from BLS a few years back, this is a substantial change.

I got this photo at the Celebration of BLS back in the fall, the new building really looms over Latin (and the rest of the street).

Am I missing something here? Are we criticizing the appearance of a building that still doesn't have its (brick) cladding?
I know the facade isn’t installed. Once they finish, it’ll still be a jumbled disjointed mess. Just red.
