The front desk usually has a staff person the times I've passed by, and one time I did see someone with an armful of bedsheets (meaning some housekeeping is presumably happening). So there do appear to be legitimate hotel activities going on, though it doesn't seem very busy - the most people I've seen so far was a handful of folks watching the World Cup on the lobby TV.
That being said, the appearance of "serious business" is somewhat undermined by this interesting piece of decor mounted right after the main entrance/in the vestibule. Among the many (
many) other quirks, looks like the Zakim sprouted some new cables...
