Free shuttles will run through Allston-Brighton, including north-south from Harvard Square to Washington Square, and east-west from Coolidge Corner to Oak Square, according to a presentation city officials released last month. The exact service details are being finalized, city officials said.
The Seaport Circulator will loop around the waterfront neighborhood, supplementing Silver Line buses, with stops at South Station, the Menino Convention and Exhibition Center, Commonwealth Pier, and Seaport Boulevard, according to Pat Sullivan, who’s helping oversee the transportation management associations running the Seaport route and another route between Charlestown and what city officials called the “lower Mystic.”
That route will run from Assembly Row to North Station, with stops at Sullivan Station, Hood Park, City Square in Charlestown, and the Navy Yard, Sullivan said. It will be in addition to a separate route Sullivan’s group is already running and is known as the “Lower Mystic Link,” which launched last November with $200,000 in state grant money. It connects the Bunker Hill Housing development on Medford Street with the Market Basket in Chelsea.
