    Biking in Boston

They have a couple of bikes in my neighborhood. I haven't tried one yet, but a few friends have done so and found it quite useful. [edit]I guess just one CargoB location, but there is another, less formal cargo bike share that also has a bike near me. Either way, it is a growing phenomenon.

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

We'll see where we are in 2028, but Keolis is at least convincingly acting like this is really happening.

    Biking in Boston

I have no personal experience with such things, but maybe a hard case with a shoulder strap so that you can carry it on your back while riding? I've seen a guy biking around my neighborhood with a full stand-up base strapped to his back, and while I don't think I'd try that, I suspect a guitar...

    The Official MBTA System Map

    Fair enough.

    The Official MBTA System Map

I don't know whether you are making an editorial comment about the quality of Silver Line transfer, but the MBTA considers Chinatown to be a transfer point and shows it that way on their maps.

    Allston-Brighton Infill and Small Developments

Looks great. The only thing that bugs me about this is that they moved the façade further back from the street, meaning that it no longer is consistent with the existing street wall. Aside from that, build baby build!

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

Thanks, I wasn't aware of this initiative previously, and am now digging in to what documents are available. Pretty strong indication that it will involve not just busways, but also protected bike lanes. These streets are wide enough for that level of infrastructure. I'm particularly excited...

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

That's why I strongly advocate for center running bus lanes. They are step one, and will provide fairly quick benefits. Step 2 would certainly be LRT conversion, with the ROW already in place, just waiting for tracks.

    Worcester Ballpark & Redev

The only reason I don't go to more WooSox games is that Polar Park is not that convenient to where I live. Fenway, on the other hand, is very convenient. When you consider location and relative quality of product, I don't mind paying more for Fenway than Polar. However, AAA baseball is still...

    Brookline Infill and Small Developments

The before and after makes me sad. The section they are updating is a really interesting building, and the massing for the replacemnt looks like a boring bunker.

    The Official MBTA System Map

The busway movement is starting to flesh out the bones of the old streetcar network, and it's obvious on maps like these.

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

I'm definitely hoping the CalTrain project serves as a valid proof-of-concept to stimulate more regional rail electrification. But 7 years to electrify a single line is kind of depressing.

NYC City Council Shifts Broker Fees From Renters to Landlords

Maybe, but there would at least be better transparency. A 2-party transaction is always going to be more open and market reflective than a byzantine 3-party arrangement.

MBTA Commuter Rail (Operations, Keolis, & Short Term)

Thanks, I was hoping it was something like that. I wonder what type of adjustments will be made when the Pike project gets under way.

MBTA Commuter Rail (Operations, Keolis, & Short Term)

They reduced the schedule by 4 round trips, that does seem like a big step in the wrong direction for that line.

    June 1, 2011 Tornado

A friend of mine taught at a school in Springfield that the tornado destroyed. The school never re-opened, and the students were permanently relocated to facilities not meant to host additional population. It's still quite astonishing that something like that happened here, where tornadoes are...

Assembly Square Infill and Small Developments | Somerville

It's exactly this. Assembly Row's peer group is made up of locations like Legacy Place. And compared to such peers, it is really fantastic. The like comparison for the Seaport is the Back Bay. And while it may someday outshine the older neighborhood, right now, it's still not there. The peer...

SKY Everett | 114 Spring Street | Everett

You aren't far off about Brookline and its transit based advantages. However, it's 2 lines and 17 stations, not 3 and 23. The B Line is entirely in Boston, as are some of the C Line stations. be that as it may, there is still a lot of light rail service for those 59,000 people. But is this even...
