Nubian Ascends (Blair Lot) | 2164 Washington | Roxbury

From the meetings I've attended, there seems to be a perception in the area that the businesses would benefit from public parking. A lot of the surface lots are going away because of development--BPS parks something like 250 people on the 135 Dudley site so where are they going (why BPS needs to...

Nubian Ascends (Blair Lot) | 2164 Washington | Roxbury

I went to the PLAN: Nubian meeting on this project last night. It looks super exciting and there was so much support for it from people in attendance. Very thoughtful and ambitious--I just hope they can make it happen.

Nubian Ascends (Blair Lot) | 2164 Washington | Roxbury

? This is a BPDA RFP, they are the ones who ran the selection process. I think they are probably in support of the project. Not sure why they wouldn't be,seem to be pretty pro development.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I prefer a hopefully temporary leasing sign over that gross Verizon sign. It's such a disappointment when you come into the city from the north to see this uninspired architecture and giant signs.

    🔹 What's Happening With Project X?

That should be the next phase of Parcel 25. Looking forward to it.

    Fenway Infill and Small Developments

Agreed. It is really close but I think a little too much of the box with stuff stuck on it approach to architecture. Something more restrained in the material palette would probably have worked better.

MassMutual | 10 Fan Pier Blvd | Fan Pier Parcel E | Seaport

That brushed finish is really sharp looking.

BFIT Redevelopment | 41 Berkeley Street | South End

Hard agree. I've often thought that somewhere like Manhattan would be perfect for retirement (except for the cost). Lots going on and easy to get around without driving. The South End seems like another really good option--there is a lot there.

    The New Retail Thread

Now I'm worried about Falafel King! I hope they manage to keep going. Also, while I am a fan of Tatte I do think there are way too many of them. I worry about keeping up the consistency.

    Boston Common Overhaul

It took a lot of searching, but there seems to be a virtual open house on 9/22. This should be way easier to find on the website. https://www.bostoncommonmasterplan.com/virtual-open-house-3

BFIT Redevelopment | 41 Berkeley Street | South End

Yep, and people want/need more support as they age so staying in a place on their own may not work. We are certain to see more of these in and around Boston.

BU Data Sciences Center | 665 Commonwealth Avenue | BU Central

The "landscape" is pretty dire too--some decent stuff along granby but just acres of paving along Comm Ave.

L Street Station Redevelopment (née Old Edison Plant)| 776 Summer Street | South Boston

Given the concerns about traffic in this area (sort of legitimate given how over-taxed the bus lines are) switching to office is foolish--that's going to create way more traffic impact, even if we permanently switch to a much heavier WFH balance. Having all residential along East First was a...

I love that brick work. David Hacin does that better than anyone else IMHO.

The Residences at Forest Hills | 3694 Washington Street | Jamaica Plain

Yeah, they VEed this one to death. It is so flat and horrible. A shame, CBT is a solid firm and can do really nice work but if you have a cheap client you end up with this nonsense.

One abutter is suing. Not the neighbors.

    Nuba ( Parcel 8) | 429 Melnea Cass Blvd | Nubian Sq | Roxbury

This area has such a history of unsuccessful RFPs (Parcel P3!) I would like to see something happen here in a few years. Any of these would be fine. Pick one that can actually happen and make it so.

State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

Nice! Good idea to just ask. I appreciate that they have really learned about deconstructing this thing before they tackle the big project.

The Aubrey | 149-153 Newbury Street | Back Bay

Yeah, this is not great. It's very thin and flashy. Disappointing because CBT is very solid firm they must have their C team on it.
