401 Park Drive (née Landmark Center) | Fenway

Looks like the Fenway Regal is set to close among dozens of Regal's across the country.

Hurley Building Redevelopment | 19 Staniford St | West End

Boston City Hall voted 4th ugliest building in the world. Good thing it is going away.

WBZ-TV/CBS Studio Development Project | 1170-2000 Soldiers Field Road | Allston

I don't mean to height fetish, but this is along a river and not far from the MA Pike on the other side. Why not build tall, sort of a modern co-op City or LIC? I work in life science and get the rabid demand for lab space, but so much of Boston is historically preserved (for good reasons)...

    Minneapolis | Twin Cities

Well, like a lot of big cities, MPLS crime is up over 2019 which was a historic low, but over the longer term, it is still incredibly safe. The downtown got pretty bad during and after Covid but has also been slowly coming back to life - not like a Boston, SF or NYC, but much busier. The...

    Minneapolis | Twin Cities

Hines is building this mixed-use development on the edge of the hot North Loop area and adjacent to Target Field (MN Twins) and downtown. It has 2 buildings: T3 - 350K ft of office space North Loop Green - 36 stories, 450 apartments (350 lux rentals and 100 short-term). Link to Hines. How...

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Coming in late here, but FWIW, I live in the Twin Cities and the Wells Fargo building is really special - up close it is well made, not cheap at all at street level, and from a distance, it looks both classic and modern - and looks great lit up at night (unlike the Capella Tower next door).

Allston Yards (Stop and Shop) | 60 Everett St | Allston

Are you guys skipping winter over there? Looks like fall or spring.

    EB80 | 80 East Berkeley | South End

Look at the guy on the bottom right with a hand over his face. I think he looked at the building and threw up in his mouth a little.

Raffles Boston (40 Trinity Place) | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

That 2-story concrete bunker parking "garage" on the left has to be on someone's radar for development. Nuts that something like that persists in Boston.

Gateway Innovation Center | 200 McGrath Highway | Somerville

I received an invite to view a prospectus for a real estate PE fund investing in this project. They are projecting pretty incredible returns vs. the usual commercial office REIT. I believe them.

Harvard SEC (Science & Engineering Complex) | Western Ave | Allston

This place looks like it was designed by the sad looking guys in that robotics lab.

    The Sofia | 380 2nd Street | Everett

Love the "Sofia" font. Looks right off of a 1980's restaurant awning.

Foundation Medicine (Parcel P) | 400 Summer Street | Seaport

I think it might get slow-rolled, but that area and the market demands for the metro will catch back up. I highly doubt it will get shelved.

State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

As someone who moved out many years ago, I am always struck by the ancient, narrow streets that in some places are 400 years old, cobblestone streets, and whole neighborhoods that are incredibly well preserved (Back Bay, Beacon Hill, South End) and then layers of 20th century through to today in...

    BU Institutional Master Plan 2023

I would not want the task of developing an IMP for BU - Pike on one side (possible air rights, tho) Storrow Drive and Charles River on the other, and a heavily built-up Comm Ave down the middle. Can thy build over parts of Storrow, like some of the hospitals on the UES of Manhattan did on the...

Raffles Boston (40 Trinity Place) | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

You guys triggered easily? I read it and although it starts off with some jabs (it is the NY Post after all), I thought it was very positive about the project and was very thorough and detailed. Real estate is the one area of the NY Post that is pretty well done.

General Electric HQ (Necco Buildings Reno) | 5 Necco Street | Fort Point

I used to work at GE and for the massive, sprawling size and global presence it had when I was there, HQ in CT was a relatively unassuming, small campus off the Merritt Turnpike. I think at the time 600-700 people worked there. Outside of a dozen or so top execs, it was mainly...

Vero Apartments | 284 Everett Ave | Chelsea

Hopefully, someone tosses in a bodega and a coffee shop in there.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

That will make two RC residences within about a mile of each other. Do they care?
