I don't think their issues with those dorms wasn't that they didn't have their own private gym, exclusive views etc. Its probably that they are in such a state of disrepair. I'm not suggesting NU doesn't build any new dorms.

ACC/NU Residence Hall | 840 Columbus Ave | Northeastern University

Because you could have many more students if you didn't use 1/3 of the space towards luxury amenities that these buildings contain. I went to BSU and our dorms did not have anything close to the space and amenities that these dorms have. Also, very expensive dorms ATTRACTs very rich students...

ACC/NU Residence Hall | 840 Columbus Ave | Northeastern University

I think there are valid arguments lobbied at this development though. Northeastern continues to use these luxury dorms as recruitment strategies vs. actually creating new dorms. Net new dorms for this large development is not that many, and we know the cost per bed for students is...

    Roxbury Infill and Small Developments

10 Taber Im liking the massing on this. The renovated Roxbury Branch of BPL is sort of open now and the plaza is so pretty!

Nubian Ascends (Blair Lot) | 2164 Washington | Roxbury

This will be great activation of this lot. As it currently sits, the parking lot is underutilized due to poor visibility--it looks very closed off (and private looking) and you have to enter around the back. Its rarely close to full use. Also, there are a shit ton of new housing units in...

The Bon | 1260 Boylston Street | Fenway

I don't necessarily buy this argument. I think even while there is 'more acceptance', that hasn't led to fewer gays going to queer specific venues. Not to be overly anecdotal but I'm a young gay and most of my gay friends I know still (pre-pandemic) go to gay bars more frequently than het-bars...

    Biking in Boston

I wouldn't say no waiting...especially at this location. Drivers in roundabouts often feel weary of stopping, even to let pedestrians go, so for pedestrians I think roundabouts tend to be worse at this size. You end up having to force yourself into the street to force a car to stop. As far as...

Nubian Ascends (Blair Lot) | 2164 Washington | Roxbury

Yeah exactly, also I don't think there were many proposals to choose from tbh.

Nubian Ascends (Blair Lot) | 2164 Washington | Roxbury

Yeah there is definitely not too little parking in Nubian. I walk by the Blair Lot almost every day and its never close to full.

    A. O. Flats | Parcel U | Jamaica Plain

I can't say that I love these units individually--the facade looks cheap and will age poorly and the amount of $ and space that went into the parking garages...I can't. but together they form a really great continuous wall that looks great when going down Washington street towards Roslindale.

    A. O. Flats | Parcel U | Jamaica Plain

Yeah I love the massing of these (minus all the space for the parking) but the materials are definitely noticeably...bad? Going by these they definitely look dated in terms of siding, especially the yellow.
