Lyrik Back Bay | 1001 Boylston Street (Parcel 12) | Back Bay

I'm all for change. More so than many folks on this forum. But I'd rather nothing over a dated-looking POS eyesore that we're stuck with forever.

Lyrik Back Bay | 1001 Boylston Street (Parcel 12) | Back Bay

I would never use CarGurus simply based on how ugly these buildings are and how they've ruined the view of the drive in Eastbound on the Pike. Absolute garbage.

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Yes, packed for weekday lunch. Otherwise, not so much.

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Nice in the sense that it's new, modern and smells like a new car. But otherwise, sterile and underwhelming from what it was supposed to be...

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Where would you estimate the core to be right now? About half way up?

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

So it looks like the top will be illuminated similarly to Atlantic Wharf?

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Interesting to see the "built" perspective! Thanks for posting that. But oh my...can we just get *one* unique, differently-shaped prominent/tall building in the skyline without a flat roof? Just one? Imagine something like the Shard in London here, how awesome that would be...

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Has anyone noticed that at night, the lighting on the "skinny" sides of the building is much more faint and less bright than on the fatter sides? Also, I think it's more noticeable because the skinny sides only have 2 slats that are lit up, whereas the wider sides have 8-10 slats. I guess this...

My god. The roof (esp. the clock) is hideous. It looks like it was designed in 1993.

City Hall Plaza Revamp | Government Center

    A) No B) Pretty sure it's impossible to "ignore" a soviet brutalist monstrosity The trees in the plaza are lipstick on a pig. Dollar Tree brand lipstick that causes rashes and swollen lips.

City Hall Plaza Revamp | Government Center

Other than the trees, I barely notice a difference. Still the ugliest building in Boston. What a waste.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

I meant downtown/financial district, amongst all the fat rectangles, to offer some differentiation. Not way over in Back Bay, far away from the fat rectangles.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Boston has so many fat, stumpy rectangles it's depressing. If we could have one - just one - skinny but tall tower, it would work wonders for the Boston skyline. Imagine one of the Pencil towers going up in NYC or elsewhere in the world. We'd obviously never get that height here, but imagine a...

Just saw it on the WBZ news weather cam!!!!! :):):)

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

I don't mean to beat a dead horse and won't ask anymore, but is it now a given there will be no lighting at the top of this tower? I mean...exterior construction has been mostly complete for a while now. And NO lighting at the top at night. Nothing. Is this it? Disappointed? Very. Am I...

State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

Imagine this instead. So similar, but taller and slimmer. This one’s a real triumph. https://www.dezeen.com/2023/01/18/mexico-city-tallest-skyscraper-mitikah-pelli-clarke-partners/

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

I was just thinking about that. Still zero lights at the top at night. I figured if it was going to happen, it would have by now. This is just so Boston of them it hurts.

One Post Office Square Makeover and Expansion | Financial District

Totally agree. I don't know anyone who'd want Dallas or Vegas, but there should be some middle ground. Right now, you'd think this is Amish City, USA.

One Post Office Square Makeover and Expansion | Financial District

There is no major city in the world that is FURTHER from "Dallas at night." We're probably the darkest, most dimly-lit skyline anywhere. I certainly don't want "Dallas", but our city at night is so dim, it's depressing. A bunch of flat-topped rectangles, barely anything that resembles a...

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Sadly, one of the *very* few angles where that's true. Perhaps this has been asked/answered recently, but is there any news on WT being lit up at the top at night? The best I was ever hoping for was a dim glow of minimal uplighting, like One Intl Place, but are we even getting that??
