Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

They got the last few floors clad pretty quickly. Is the cladding complete now on all sides? 1 Dalton is a 3 sided building, right?

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

The number of commuters (for work, business) on a weekday is probably at least equal to the population of Boston - so another 700,000. Assuming 150,000 Bostonians work outside the city limits (just a guess), thats a net gain of 550K to the 700K that live in Boston = 1.25M. If you add the...

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Oh yeah I know all that. I was just pointing out that the Back Bay skyline alone is on par with the skyline of cities like Nashville, Louisville, St Louis, Indianapolis, etc. Those are all fairly decent sized cities.

I disagree. I think some of these older-yet-still-modern buildings belong in any skyline. Obviously, gleaming glass towers like MT or 1 WTC in lower Manhattan are awesome, but the Pru is not ugly. Neither are the Westin/Sheraton/Hilton buildings in the Back Bay. They might be a little to short...

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

1 Dalton certainly is a nice tower. So is Millenium Tower downtown. Hopefully 115 Winthrop, TD Garden Tower also continue the trend. Bulfinch Crossing has really sweet looking renders. Is there anything else 500+ planned for the Back Bay in the next 2-3 years?

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Just checked...i think its only 17 UC buildings in NYC taller than 1 Dalton. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_buildings_in_New_York_City#Under_construction

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

27th in NYC is not that bad I guess. 748' is pretty tall. The problem with Boston is that that is basically the tallest building in the city (790 for the Hancock). Boston really does need a 1000 footer somewhere to really stamp its authority but the logistics of Logan plus all the archaic shadow...

Off topic, but I noticed Lufthansa has stopped operating the 748 on the FRA-BOS route...is that just a summer seasonal thing???

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Re: South Station Tower Most of the Back Bay buildings are 350-400. Its just Pru, Hancock, and 1 Dalton that are true skyscrapers. And I guess 111 Huntington.

The Sudbury (Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower) | 50 Sudbury St | GCG Phase I | Gov't Center

^ that doesn't look very nice, IMHO. the aspect ratio's should be thinner for a 500' building to give it the appearance of being taller.

Can we get some skyline renders with this project, 115 Winthrop, and the South Station tower up??? Man, if only Copley Place was there...Boston would be kicking serious skyline ass (already a decent 7th place I think in the US).

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Just googled it...MDW is a whopping 10 miles away from the loop. Thats about as far as JFK from midtown/downtown Manhattan.

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

DCA is OK because the tallest buildings in the DC area are in Roslyn and those are only around 450 feet. MDW is still a lot further away from the Chicago Loop than BOS is from downtown. I think MDW is 7-8 miles from the loop, but definitely at least 5. PHL and PHX are really close to...

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

It is true that the total # of skyscrapers in a city is more important to give the skyline a more massive/dense feel than just having one or two really tall buildings. That being said, I feel there is prestige with having a 1000' or at least a 300 meter plus tower. For that reason, I'd like to...
