    Kendall/MIT Infill and Small Developments

I was just having a conversation and its contrast in development constraints/allowances compared to Boston (and its specific neughborhoods). It seems there is still a very high cost/sq ft for lab space, while the area of Kendall isn't a huge space (unless high rise res and labs want to encroach...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

I was waiting at Govt Center for my GL to Medford/Tufts for my first ride yesterday, and an older woman not familar with the area was quite confused when she saw destinations of Medford/Tufts and Union on the board and she wanted to go to Lechmere. The problem was that the station map still...

    Crazy Transit Pitches

This is a borderline God mode proposal: I was considering a LRT line running as a cut n cover, partially tunnel bored route from Central Square in Cambridge to Washington St and Mass Ave under Mass Ave (tunneling under Mass Ave bridge under the Charles). This would replace a good chunk of the...

Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

Any idea on how tall the 2 hotels in the 2nd phase will be? Can't find that anywhere.

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

I was looking at the Newburyport/Rockport Line ROW on Google Earth and it seems like there is a potential ROW for a silver line extension to Sweetser Circle in Everett - with some properties losing some space, as well as maybe clearing freight tracks. Is this possible? It would be great for the...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

This seems like the cheapest way to provide a temporary fix, aside from just having free rides. Adding a button/function to fare vending machines that were gonna be placed at stations anyway. But let's ask this: will there be more lost from fares evaded than the cost of fare gates? Is this the...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

How is the speed along the line? Is it reduced or reaching the anticipated speeds in the open sections? Also I feel like I'm beating a dead horse, but with this line and fare validation being a much different animal than the short Union Sq spur, unless people don't validate, there will be...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Now that there will be a lot more stations opening soon - will the fares be indefinitely "free"/validated for boardings at the new stops? Also, has the line/delays associated with fare validation improved? And will it be an issue with these stops?

    Red Line Extension to Mattapan

This is a less relevant question- but will the recycled green line trolleys be green? Or will there be some plan to paint red or orange?

    The New Retail Thread

Those two are in completely different leagues to me, and it doesn't seem to be a redundancy. Wahlburgers is a huge chain now too

    The New Retail Thread

This is somewhat off-topic but I'm still waiting for Logan's first terminal location of Tasty Burger as it seems to check off a lot of the typical qualifications such as local staple, has alcohol, easy-to-churn menu items. Hopefully one opens soon.

    Clippership Wharf | East Boston

A friend of mine who lives in Clippership received an email recently from his property mgmt company that Smokeshop is opening in the next few months

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

I noticed from curiosity that Delta is starting nonstop between Detroit and a couple of their other hubs and Honolulu. Would Boston be considered for that? It would be nice for another option aside from Hawaiian Airlines

    The New Retail Thread

I'm surprised this didn't stay a high end store /dept store still. It's outfitted for it, I think tourists and high-income folks would serve it well. The first Nordstrom in Boston or another high end retailer would've done alright. I'm not mad about a sporting goods store though - there's like...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Will the bike path/community path be open in the summer?

Gateway Innovation Center | 200 McGrath Highway | Somerville

The walkability to the East Somerville station should ideally come about with all of this development, especially for that massive 23 story office/lab building.

65 Wareham Street | South End

You can do light rail on the sides of the street, depending on the traffic design. Less dense cities like Charlotte have that - and I don't think Washington St is the worst traffic load like Huntington, thus side running light rail works, keeping the price tag down.

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Is the crown occupiable or is it basically a spire?
