Fort Point Infill and Small Developments

The lanes have now been painted with symbols and arrows and all, though they're still black. I think they were waiting to repave the road here. I'll snap some pictures when I can but you can find them on Twitter (I think @FortPointer had them). I wish the city would start using that fancy dyed...

L Street Station Redevelopment (née Old Edison Plant)| 776 Summer Street | South Boston

Every public meeting I've gone to in Southie in the last few years - including meetings that have nothing to do with this project - someone demands that the city turn this site into a giant parking garage that would be free for residents, and gets a big cheer.

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

My understanding is the original plan was for this to basically follow the 9 route - City Point, east to P or Farragut, then dedicated lanes on Broadway, then turn to the Seaport at D. The usual suspects killed that and we ended up with this stubby route that no one took because the 7 bus was...

401 Park Drive (née Landmark Center) | Fenway

This was enraging: We've come a long way.

    archBOSTON Update: A New Dawn

I'm behind a pretty robust filter at work, though not quite at DoD level I imagine. I've never had a problem seeing the site, though I can't see a lot of content depending on where people post from. No Imgur, but Flickr is fine. Why? Who knows.

New Red and Orange Line Cars

Could swear I saw some Red Line ones sitting north of the Broadway Bridge last time I ran over, but I didn't stop for pictures. That was about a week ago. But it's too soon for that, right?

Cambria Hotel | 6 West Broadway | South Boston

Found this: So maybe it's still part of the emergency training they do there?

Cambria Hotel | 6 West Broadway | South Boston

Still can't figure out why it works sometimes and not others. But I'll try and use two browsers until the new overlords give us an image hosting solution. Here are the rest:

Cambria Hotel | 6 West Broadway | South Boston

The sidewalk is open: There's also a new, right-angled crosswalk to Broadway Station that should help if they ever make that change to the 9 bus route and drop people off on this side. Still not clear on why there couldn't have been a Red Line entrance on that side...

Fort Point Infill and Small Developments

The full tracks are open now: Of course then you get here, and well, good luck:

Ink Block (Boston Herald) | 300 Harrison Avenue | South End

And half that stuff is still sitting on the basketball court. Not that I think anyone is pining the loss of half a basketball court under a highway. I'm glad the place is prettier but I really don't want to linger around there inhaling car exhaust.

You're saying I can't trust everything I see on Twitter?

    Biking in Boston

I think the original plan was to stay on the Connector side (as reflected in Henry's image), but they changed it to Albany St.

Yes, and they have a Coming Soon sign hung up.

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

I haven't seen much discussion of this so maybe I'm misreading, but in the Dorchester Reporter article about how long the Red Line will be slowed, there's this: I asked Jennifer Smith and she confirmed that they are saying the brand new signal project has now been moved up a year. That's great...

    Biking in Boston

This last bullet is the part currently being worked on. Here's the description of the project: https://www.boston.gov/sites/default/files/imce-uploads/2017-08/2017-0809_sbht_informational_meeting.pdf The nice part will be the bike lanes that form a circle between 4th and Broadway bridges, and...

    Biking in Boston

Some work finally being done on the South Bay Harbor Trail (the ugliest part of it, anyway, still no sign of bike lanes on the 4th St./Broadway bridges):
