Atlantic Wharf (née Russia Wharf) | Atlantic Ave | Waterfront

Re: Russia Wharf seriously, the first pic is great. actually makes the area look better then it is in person. lifted my spirits. if this building is successful, i think it will set the precedent for future development along the greenway

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

while we are at it lets persecute the goth chicks from emerson on the common! the germans would love it! seriously. born and bred in boston... lets not make it williamsburg. imitation is he most sincere form of flattery. how about we imitate the development patterns of our colonial past...

Re: W Hotel nope. look at london. not a single fantastic signature "world class" skyline building, but one of the most perfectly functional cities in the world.

Density vs Height vs Design (from the W Thread)

Re: W Hotel like i said, it is great from stuart/kneeland. great massing, great height, streetwall over parking lot..nothing "in" about that. is it boring from an aesthetic point of view? and are you implying that architecture is meant to be viewed only as an aesthetic? i never mentioned...

Density vs Height vs Design (from the W Thread)

i would rather have the high density low rise nature of boston over height or "architecture" any day. back to the topic on hand, it is a great looking building from stuart/kneeland. from the north or south it is rather obese

Photo of the Day, Boston Style - Part Deux

good eye both shots were taken with a holga so exposure is a crapshot and not enough detail with a plastic lens to do a proper photoshop job (hence the lack of antenna and the crown of 111) what camera do you use for the above shots by the way?

    Emerson College's Paramount Center

Re: BRA approves Emerson College's Paramount Center goes to show that boston's institutions and architects aren't always responsible for half the dreg that gets built in this city.

Hook Wharf | 400 Atlantic Ave | Downtown

Re: James Hook Burns Down on the Greenway have you guys been to the barking crab? it is semi bad food that is way overpriced. mixed with poor service and bad ownership, its not really worth saving as is. true the buildling is interesting and unique, but the business itself is not. hook on...

Seaport Square (Formerly McCourt Seaport Parcels)

i would rather have people who visit boston leave with an impression of what boston really has to offer. throwing a bunch of "chain restaurants" on the waterfront is not a true representation of what boston truly is, and honestly, that is the clientele that these types of establishments will...
