What about south station tower? Its crazy that with this boom going on there hasnt been a peep about it.
 
Maybe we can expect a wave of starts before Fed hikes interest rates at next meeting, as is widely speculated? I'm not sure if the interest rates for CRE borrowing are fixed or float and when they lock in (at time financing agreement is signed or when formal construction starts?)...

My understand was that the planned South Station Tower would be over the existing tracks, not the area currently occupied by the postal facility. Any other development over a future expanded South Station would be a different animal.
 
A bit of a different question for this thread: I keep seeing concrete parts coming south on 93 in the morning. Many look almost like bridge segments - a thin deck with two thicker rails. This morning there appeared to be two sets of precast concrete stairs, plus the usual deck section. What's all this for?

Really belongs in the SSX thread - here's the min/max alternatives for the USPS site:

And why is South Station tower held up if it has nothing to do with the postal service moving?
 
Thats what I was asking originally. We have the four seasons and millennium coming out of nowhere and already under construction but this tower has been approved years ago and still nothing. With the boom going on this thing should have already been under construction.
 
^^That makes sense. Ha, I bet Hines could land a tenant before USPS moves out anyway.
 
First off...this thread is a great idea. Didnt want to bump the actual TD Garden Towers thread, but I had a question. Im still unclear whether or not the existing renders are just massing projections or if they represent the actual buildings to be built. Love the tall Tower on the left (when viewed from the south) but it would be a real shame if that boring glass box on the right ia what welcomes drivers to Boston as they cross the Zakim. Someone please tell me that one at least is just a place holder!
