🔹 What's Happening With Project X?

Druker wanted to build a new 90' office tower(sic) but NIMBYs were against it.

Oh, wait, those were people from this very forum ..

The developer that owns it (Drucker?) wants to tear it down and build a tower. But he won't do it until he secure a tenant for the new tower and he hasn't found one yet. He was quoted in a recent article about a different project but I forget which one.

The Viola proposal we saw was for a developer selection process. The developer would still need to file with the city and go through the Article 80 process before commencing construction.

I think they were throwing 2019 around as a possible date?

Is it going to be put in with the decking for the new proposal at Parcel 15,

or is it a standalone?

Does anyone know the point where Hines looses their exclusive development rights and the SST can be bid out to other developers?

I'd assume it's standalone. The developer for 15 is different from the developer for 13.

Anyone know what is going on at the corner of High and Congress?? Just walked by and they are demoing the stone clad entry way. Turner doing the work and looks like JLL is the owner.

You beat me to the question! Anyone know what's going on here? Here's a couple pics of them tearing down the existing addition.

Why Boston is fast becoming an urban hellhole for a growing underclass who can't afford a decent place to live...

we lead the world in talking about highrises and wind power

you can only say the word 'Skyscraper' on one parcel once every 1/2 century.

Seaport: how Boston not only remained America's turd tower city......

but knocked it out of the park......

Boston planning 101

Flynn, Menino, Flynn, Menino, Flynn, Menino..........

Oh God, Tito might be mayor (someday)

takes 15 or 37 years to plan a Goddamned 480' building

do they offer counseling?

i of course, apologize but i shouldn't have to, and have no place else to rant.

cuz the Globe will delete it.

ok, i'm going on my 6 mile walk over Third Point (here in the 'Bu),

hopefully a Jane Seymour sighting later at Tony's..........

i have this thing for Jane.

Odura, most people don't give a damn with how the skyline looks from a distance. There is lots of residential construction going on now, hopefully it isn't a short lived boom and continues.

It seems as if there aren't companies willing to bankroll tall office towers. As far as residential towers go, Four Seasons and the recently built MT are nice additions to the skyline.

Marshall st is being redone and there’s a curb now facing Hanover st, does this mean no more thru traffic? And our own little stone st is happening ?

Just look at traffic everywhere. Yes ----they should have built tall skyscrapers in Boston to prevent insane traffic in and around the surrounding area now at all hours of the day.

The infrastructure in and around Boston so outdated. Kids can't even ride their bikes anymore around the city

The taller you build around centralized t-stops the more foot traffic you most likely get compared to people using cars in the city.

I 100% agree with this. It sickens me that we can't invest in expanding public transportation. Even worse is the fact that it's costing us billions of dollars to lay trolley tracks along an already existing right of way in Somerville. Other cities worldwide are expanding public transportation, why can't we?

Also you've got a hyper localized goverment that allows place next to rapid transit look like this https://www.google.com/maps/@42.327...ww11j_pIhYFbwbX50O3w!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en (rant over).

It's part of the Connect Historic Boston project. As I recall, there is some work being done on Marshall to make it more passable at the sidewalk on Hannover, but not much inside the block.
