For $80 million we have a new owner/developer (Tishman Speyer). If I remember correctly they own the garage across the street.

This may mean we'll actually get something built in our life time.
$55 million on this flip. "NICE!!"
Several Big Money Developers with the ability to quickly arrange construction financing are converging on this area bounded roughly by the Fort Point Chanel and the Haul Road and Summer St and Dorchester Ave

the list already includes:
Tishman Speyer
Alexandria -- former G.E HQ new construction site
Related-Beal -- 6.5 acre parking lot adjacent to GE HQ site

There will e more

I'll say. Maybe they have a tenant and are willing to splurge on design and materials.

Stick -- I think that tishman-launches-life-sciences-division
Tishman is learning what the Life Sciences Lab market wants at least in the Kendall Sq. version

Remember that they have just down the street two &1/2 other teams of developers with a lot more experience at this kind of stuff

today's Universal Hub has a video showing two excavators helping*1 the RCN Building in "biting the dust"
By adamg - 3/3/20 - 4:03 pm
Nate Swain compiled this video of the demolition of a former RCN building on West 1st Street by the Haul Road in South Boston. It's coming down to make way for an eight-story office building aimed at "innovators."
