3200 Washington St. | Egleston Sq. | Jamaica Plain

This is really great to see in Eggleston Sq.

I am very much dating myself, but when I lived in JP 20 years ago, Eggleston Sq was super sketchy. Even when I moved out ~2004, when JP was turning around big-time, Eggleston Sq was still a dicey area.

How is it these days?

It can still be a bit dicey, but definitely trending toward better things. The entire Washington St. corridor between Columbus/Seaver and Forest Hills is undergoing a radical transformation. Already there are bagel shops and brewery tap rooms, I suspect trendy restaurants aren't far behind.
 
I think there was a shooting in the pizza place on the corner of Washington and Seaver, so its not like the SAFEST spot. But I go through here a lot and I never feel unsafe and I'm just a wee lad.
