The Sullivan Square area between I-93 and the Mystic River is so in need of redevelopment/densification. It looks like the Seaport area did 30 years ago; a sea of parking lots.
I've often wondered where the "square" is at Sullivan. Seems like a T station and busway under a highway, next to a huge rotary with a parking lot in the middle.

Before the post WW-II destruction and construction of the overpass (now gone), underpass and giant rotary, there was an actual Sullivan Square framed in by buildings providing a dense pedestrian-oriented street wall. The whole area was that way. The never-happening plans for reconfiguring Rutherford Ave include redeveloping Sullivan Square to a street grid with buildings. Hope it happens someday, and there's no real reason why it can't.
