BCDC presentation (BPDA is still grouping this in "Seaport Square" instead of its own project and there is not yet a street address):

Interestingly, there is no mention of Amazon in these slides.

It's broader on its long sides than I had realized, but at least it isn't shaped like a poop emoji.

Yes I immediately thought poop emoji too when saw that lol - how did the architects not?

This is Amazon's new building for Crystal City VA.. Phallic porn architecture, and looks to be immensely impractical from a space utilization standpoint.

Let's see if that actually gets built per the render.

With all the times I've seen that render this week, I'm actually starting to hate the brown building to the right more than the turd. Whoever first came up with the "bad 70s wallpaper" dull lines on concrete paneling thing (incongruously on the mechanical screen here, covering basically the entirety of one of the Cambridge Crossing buildings...) needs to be banned from architecture for life.

Also, I've clipped a couple of renders from the PDF so people don't think this thread is about the Virginia project.

I think we are getting better architecture from Amazon than Virginia. And ultimately, I won't be surprised if we get more jobs.
At the very least, we're getting better renderings! :)

I love the last two screengrabs Equilibria shared where we can see Foundation Medicine's new HQ. I think it's the most thoughtful fusion of Fort Point historic character with and 21st century Seaport contemporary/massing, and those renderings illustrate that very well.

An aside: any guesses/ideas when we'll see proposals for the south corner of Summer Street & W. Service Road Extension (basically next to 315 on A)? It's a great site for a complicated, decked HQ hotel.

Looking at that, and remembering the amount of money CC threw at Amazon? We won........... Big.
