Apple Store Thread ][

Oh man, for a second there I thought I was looking at the final product! I was about to cry foul on "that disgustingly green glass"..

And I would have cried foul, because it reminded me of this gag reflex-inducing recladding in NYC:

The funny thing is, I believe Cosmo magazine said that one of the best places to meet guys is at the Apple Store.

Casting call for Beauty and the Geek?

Wow... its a apple store. What exactly is the reason I would go there again? the new utra thin laptop I could find on ebay or craigslist or the music I could download for free?

I think boston.com did a comparison between the the new slim apple and some cheap knockoff. wonder who actuallly came out on top.

Mike Bibby calls Apple stores the biggest bandwagon out there. ( oh yea he's right)

Boston.com, that standard of hard-hitting journalism. These are the same people that produce sheep-shearing articles and polls on if I'm throwing out my water bottle ... on the FRONT PAGE.

And Bibby is a basketball person, right? What's his experience in tech, marketing, branding, or sales? How do his comments relate to architecture and the new property Apple is opening?

If you have an opinion, have one. Own it, and make it yours. Don't use some lame-ass NBA person to infer ideas you can't/won't to articulate.

I walked by the new store today as they were loading in pieces of the furnishings/fittings. The marketing and use of the brand is brilliant (though they should have had it squared away for Marathon), and it really allows the street to "breathe" with both the Apple store and the Mandarin nearly scaffold free (some street level barricades remain in front of the Apple store and Mandarin is bringing in what they need on a day-to-day basis).

The Apple (Sox) Storefront is one of the absolutely coolest pieces of advertisements I have ever seen! Perfect for the location and for garnering goodwill and attention for it's product! Some very smart marketing/advertising people work for Apple. Definitely a grand slam!

Globle and/or Boston Magazine feature on the "new Boylston Street" only weeks away...

They don't. Bibby said that Boston (Celtics) fans are just bandwagon fans; he never (to my knowledge, anyway) said anything regarding apple products. Suffolk was making a joke.

Apple is trendy, and slightly overpriced (even though it is a quality product for the most part), but the architecture of this building is undoubtably good for the street wall on Boylston. I do like the subtle "green monster" boards too; it's just one more example of why Apple has the following that it does. Smart marketing (with subtle touches like the green monster) and a degree of flashiness combined with a reliable product create success.

I hate the utter pervasiveness of the red sox. I still follow the team, but i hate them inside.

Better this than some colonial (or worse, baked bean) themed getup to announce their arrival in Boston.

Looks pretty cool at night as well.

citywalk, that picture has a cinematic quality to it. i enjoy it. nice work.

Ha. Though you know that for all Menino's bluster about Boston's loss of corporate headquarters not negatively impacting the city (which, while it doesn't break the city's back, is not entirely true), Covidien is an example of something bucking the trend in a big way. Covidien was part of Tyco until it was spun off. Now it's one of the very biggest companies with a Mass. HQ. More power to Covidien, I say.

Yesterday morning they were laying the loam for the green roof. If the construction timeline of the MacAllen can be used as an indicator opening has to be quite soon, probably by the end of this month.
