Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

I'm guessing the water that is constantly draining into the bike lane from weep holes in the planter strip is from an irrigation system? It seems excessive.
Pictures appear to all be from the evening, so likely just after they've received their watering cycle. I would expect it's not dripping out/wet there all day.

Elevated planters also are more affected by heat and dry out faster, so they do potentially need more/more frequent watering than your in-ground garden would, especially while the plants aren't that mature/established in the planters.

There’s drainage and standing puddles in the southbound bike lane every morning, even during the extended dry spell. Makes it very difficult to pass because bikers keep far left to avoid the puddles and if you’re following too close you get water thrown on you from tires ahead of you. I think ice in the bike lane is going to be a problem in the winter.

If that's the case it does sound like a problem. That's not what's shown in the pics in previous posts, which is what I was going off of.

The irrigation system will likely not be on in the winter, but still, I can agree you shouldn't be having large puddles result from it daily.

Yes if anything I think they are watering in the morning and the evening picture shows how it looks after a day of evaporation.

It is specifically here in front of the drain where a thin layer of water will pool as there is a slight lip at the edge of the drains. You can see the outline of the larger puddle when looking closer.

They seem to be working on the irrigation lines today. Maybe there is a leak. The water is non-stop and algae is growing in some places.

Pretty cool view of the bridge pilings during an exceptionally low tide last night. Great to see them start using the lights down there.

I only wish they had the gall to add a fun structure in the walkway like they did in Chicago, which probably will be quite useful once the bridge starts to leak water in ~10 years or so.

Especially on the concrete support columns.
