Core is rising fast.

Now here's a surprise. Why would a second crane being going up so close to the first one?
Well, I haven't been over there to see it, but with binoculars, it looks like the second crane is at the opposite corner of the building.

First off, what is the core for? Secondly, why is there still construction going on there?!!

Interestingly, given the tones being used at Allston Landing, that copper cladding will do a nice job tying the row together.

New Balance's development wing says it will soon file plans to replace a one-story commercial building at 131 North Beacon St., at Hichborn Street, in Brighton with a six-story, 78-unit condo building.
The proposed building, for which NB Development says it will soon file detailed plans with the BPDA, would have ground-floor commercial space and roughly 43 parking spaces in a garage.
The building would be next to a new apartment building at 24-26 Hichborn St. and a short walk to a life-sciences complexproposed for where the Sound Museum used to be and a life-sciences building proposed for where Marty's recently closed, as well as to New Balance's various Guest Street buildings and the Boston Landing commuter-rail stop.

WOW - - what a marvelous upgrade, bring it on!!!!! This extends/spreads that development area from merely hugging the Turnpike inward. I've been waiting for this "spreading" dynamic. Looking at the above Google Maps, this would represent a new stage in the long-game. North Beacon Street is so ripe for massive development - - and massive residential additions to help alleviate the housing crisis.
