Boston Landing (Strider Hotel) | 180 Guest Street | Brighton

Amusing that the site plan still shows Hichborn with all the houses that have been demolished and replaced.

Per Bostonplans: "The Hotel Project entails the construction of a 170-room hotel of approximately 130,000 square feet of Hotel and retail, restaurant and service use."

That picture of the new hotel on the fence is completely different than the most recent design on bostonplans. It also says 9 stories and the building in the pic matches that where the render shows 11 stories. The design must have changed again and they havent released it to the public yet outside of this sign. Looks like a couple floors got knocked off again and it now has this convex wavy facade.

Yep there it is. Was able to use the apple ai clean up tool to get some decent screen grabs, because you can only screenshot the renders with the big green arrows.

The facade appears to be greyish blue brick with a flowing concave pattern. Looks pretty good imo. Street level looks to have a decent amount of activation. Sucks it lost some height again, but as far as the building itself it looks to be pretty high quality materials and design. No offset windows or colossal order to be found. Id love to see more colored stone buildings like this pop up around the city. The concave facade appears to be gaining popularity as well, hopefully theres more to come.

All you have to do is right click and "open images in new tab" and the arrows go away.

Yea thats what I usually do, but on certain sites it doesnt work. It may work on a computer I’m not sure as I’m on my phone, but this site doesnt allow it on my phone. One work around when you cant do it on certain sites is to copy off google images, which I did for the first pic, but the rest of them are not showing up there yet.

Regrettably but predictably, this thing lost considerable height since 2012 (source). That said, the version being constructed looks like it will have a nicer materials palette and cleaner lines than previous iterations.

One thing not super clear in these new renders is how this version will integrate with the rooftop open space. The 2022 version had both covered and open air seating and connected to the rolling hills element that descends down to the New Balance HQ entrance (source). Hope that open space and connectivity still exists in this new version.

Somehow the new version is even worse than previously proposed - no offset windows! And why shorter?

If you zoom in it appears that there is no glass on the side facing the rooftop allowing people to pass from the roof to the building seamlessly.

And this image shows the outdoor seating is still there.
