Got to love how this mundane build-out of existing shell space on an upper floor somehow requires the City of Cambridge Special Permit process. Yet, building a whole new (ill-fitting) lab building at 34-40 Hampshire was a quick under the radar as-of-right building permit (in place of what was supposed to be a special-permitted hotel building). I am sure there is a logical zoning-based reason for this, but it is still a ridiculous comparison from a community relations standpoint.
