BU Development Thread

^^it just looks good, and "manly," something you don't see a lot of in Boston. I think ablarc will fill you in on what that means. Just my opinion :)

And this thing

Good find. Im surprised, the images had been updated less than a year ago. Meanwhile, Fresno CA (family lives there) has images that look to be from 2002....my uncles street is a farm.

Kenmore square bus station is now fully operational in the image, but without the reconfigured lanes. Last image had it under construction, about to be useable, and the one before that had it as a hole.

I wish they had a google map satellite time travel thing.

Google Earth actually does have "time travel."

Copley Square is being sucked into another dimension.

I dont have/want google earth. Bring it to the internets!

Boston, Massachusetts (PRWEB) September 24, 2009 -- As part of its continuing effort to lead new media initiatives in higher education, Boston University recently added professional quality 3D models of its campuses to Google Earth(TM). With these highly detailed 3D models created by concept3D, BU has one of the most detailed campus models in Google Earth(TM) today.

At night almost everyroom is lite up almost making it a beacon on Storrow and the Pike. It definately extended Boston's skyline to there. It's kind of like the tail fin of a fish, if downtown is the head and back bay is the dorsal.

terrific building....it's nothing special but it's the kind of building that can modernize an entire area

Of all the buildings in Boston to floodlight, we get this one.

"Welcome, everyone driving in from the west! How you like them prefabricated panels?"

What makes this building different from, say, Fan Pier, is that it is tall and slender, not fat and chodey. Both are made of basically the same designs but this turns out looking somewhat elegant.

It's only tall and slender from 2/4 angles.

This whole project is coming along way better than I had imagined, or the plan had suggested.

We could be looking at a row of blah low rises per one of the origional plans below:

Question:

Did BU ever redevelop their old rink? Is that where this building is now?
