Children's Hospital Building | Longwood

You gotta love it when they close a sidewalk to build a gerbil tube and don't provide any alternative way to walk around the construction zone.

Is this crane for the Children's Hospital Building or something else?

Something else. It is located about a block north attached to one of the BWH round towers. It looks like they are adding a new mechanicals platform.

Pretty sure it's the relocated helipad. Going to be hideous and super visible. Saw it at a LMA meeting and was not impressed.

Globe has a render that I haven't seen before...

Why can't we get a children's hospital with a nice garden like that one at Stanford... oh wait.

Take a street view look around Lucile Packard Children's Hospital (at Stanford). This is directly across the street from their new building. Now compare that to the density of the Longwood Medical Area, and remember that Boston Children's will still have 114 more beds than Packard after their respective expansions.

If BCH had as big a campus as Stanford's with as much room to grow, you can be sure that they'd have big gardens too. The Prouty Garden, before its demolition, was half an acre. Packard has more than 3 acres of greenspace.
