With appologies to Poor Richard's Almanac

Crossed Cranes -- More to Come

Cranes in the fog -- More cranes in the sunshine

And as an aside -- if you maneuver around a bit you could have Liberty Mutual's cranes absconding with the top of the old John Hancock -- Beacon Envy

^^ Next time I'm "over on campus" as we say in the back-office at DFCI.

Great pics guys! Wow, sooooo many cranes, and not one noteworthy project among them! (except maybe Fatiron?)

I think he means not one really tall office tower just a bunch of stumps going up,better than nothing I guess?

You got it, but also no tall residential towers either. Obviously these are good for street level and improving density, but when you zoom out a little bit the city is still going to look almost exactly as it looks now. Copley Place and the Filenes Tower can't come soon enough.

While the cranes for Filenes and Copley are certainly eagerly anticipated

The skyline of the SPID continues to change especially when viewed from Logan and from southern approaches

However -- down the road -- I'm really looking forward to the canibalization and recycling of those big garages on Congress and at the Aquarium -- those are the real game-changers in or near to the pipeline

Let me just throw this out there. I am really excited about all the construction going on in Boston, right now. We are "Crane City" (is this a term that a bunch of cities use, have you heard it elsewhere?).

But, I'm a petty person, and for some reason I worry that being positive and supportive of the city in any way would be misinterpreted by people as complimenting the Mayor. Perhaps that's just my own bizarre thought process, but it's also a perverse situation where he is so intertwined with the city that you can't separate the two.

Am I off base here? Does anyone feel similar?
