Menkiti and RMS are the front runners for demo and redevelopment. I like Menkiti's plan. 10 and 11 stores, 20% affordable, 10 % accessible and public space

Wrecking Ball For Worcester's Denholm Building After Proposals Picked

Worcester has selected two proposals submitted for the Denholm redevelopment. Both propose demolishing the building.

Agreed it's the better of the two proposals that move forward, just judging by the numbers. That rendering is hopefully just a massing study *fingers crossed*

Sorry to see the old building go, it got a cool urban façade and some nice interior details, but it's just not easily converted into anything useful and needs tons of upgrades.

Worcester Infill and Small Developments

Looking into this a bit is this the first new inventory of public housing in the state in decades? Usually they demolish old buildings and replace them with new ones, but it seems that this was just an abandoned lot before that now has new public housing on it. If so this is good to see. This...

Another angle of the Menkiti master plan. There are some allegations about the business practices of one of the subcontractors. Ground level looks nice, the rest of the facade facing Main Street.. meh.

They are also looking for a TIF, they have not even had the land transfered to them yet. I am worried about he amount of VE thats going to happen if this thing still happens any time soon
