Domino Sugar Redevelopment | 425 Medford Street | Charlestown Waterfront

Pro: leveraging the already surprisingly parks on the mystic

Con: Blase shrinking residential buildings yet again.

This view is a little cheeky....

...but it's not like it's had anything to show off for the last 100+ years

January Presentation:
- Lots of height reductions
- Parking moved underground
- Lots of pre-work to raise site significantly, including all of Schrafft parking lots
- Still committing to walkable neighborhood
- Very light on architectural details outside of desired material form
- Presentation has lots of pictures of parks...
- Phase 1 buildings are really ambitious in the current financing climate.
- Only site work and parking bathtub for the first 2 years before anything go vertical

Looks awesome. I mean personally I would ditch the community paths between buildings that will be shady and windy and if anything allocate all the green space to the riverfront which is what people will actually use. I'm not convinced the design relates much to historic Charlestown, but it looks great.

The plan above says there will be shuttle bus service from Sullivan

This is where some anonymous benefactor provides the $$$ to repurpose the Mystic Wharf branch for a streetcar / LRV route, right?

Underground parking, yet site raised. We still can't even do serious consistent policy on a site by site basis let alone by the City.

Agree, this looks really good. And I guess the same developer owns 465 Medford (the adjacent site)? Will be quite the area when that gets developed as well.

Are the latest renderings pre- or post- VE?
