“The proposed project change contemplates a reduction of vehicle parking from the originally approved 36 vehicle parking spaces to 13 vehicle parking spaces in the revised design due to the removal of the below-grade parking level. The originally approved project was approved by the BPDA Board on August 11, 2016 and included a six-story residential building with up to thirty-six (36) condominium units including five (5) affordable units and up to 36 parking spaces spread across two levels of parking.

Cedarwood Development is proposing a four-story building with 18 residential rental units including two affordable units and 20 off-street/on-site parking spaces.”

Parking Count Reduced for East Boston Condo Project

Originally approved in August 2016 updated plans have been presented for 151 Liverpool Street in East Boston. As approved the 6-story condo building would include 36 units and 33 parking spaces. Now, plans call for 13 parking spaces due to the elimination of the basement. Per project documents, the cost of constructing the required foundation for the basement & installing and operating a vehicle elevator has become prohibitive.

Between the "Grassroots" work in the Globe article, the "new vision for East Boston" planning post above and the East Boston Resilience initiative noted in the link below, I think Eastie may have a plan to address the climate alarms of the last 20 years!

The 50 basis point cut yesterday by the Fed was a surprise to many of us in the financial industry (the vast majority - around 75%-25% ratio had pegged 25).

This should have a wonderful laxative effect on rates and housing investment. LFG!!!!!

Its currently a 4 unit house where most of the lot is taken up by the driveway and a patch of grass. Turning this into 20 units is a huge win and can and should be replicated thousands of times across the city imo.
