The 7 alarm fire in Southie on Saturday morning burned a good portion of the neighborhood where I grew up, and where my parents still live. They, and their house, are OK, but they've been helping some of the unfortunate who were displaced by this. Meanwhile, this photo from BFD of the fire is as amazing as it is ultimately sad.

It's very visible from the river, particularly near the Longfellow Bridge. It's in the Beacon Hill neighborhood, at the base of the hill, between Charles Street and Storrow. Spin the view below and you'll see it's practically across the street from the Hatch Shell.
