BREAKING: Sources say Alexandria, National is set to buy $GE's Seaport headquarters for a ‘gigantic’ sum
There ain't going to be no Phase II so I edited the thread title.
Sounds like the flip of this property might have (sadly) been one of the most effective business things GE has done in the past decade...

"They found that more than one-third of the units are owned by limited liability companies, trusts, and other business entities that allow buyers to obscure their identities. Just 36 percent of owners requested the property tax exemption the city offers homeowners — a sign that the owners may live elsewhere most of the time"
There's a good chance the building that would have been Phase II will still be built, it just won't be for GE as a tenant. One of the factors contributing to the value of this plot is that plans for the new building are already drawn up and approved. No need for the new developer to through all the approval rigmorale.
Some thoughts:
1) I'm not in the business of stock picking, but if anybody thinks GE is going under you can short the stock and make a bundle of money. Maybe a better use of your time than a constant discussion about the company's performance every time some news comes along about this site.
2) Regardless of if and how Phase II plays out, I really like the restoration of these old buildings.
3) I also don't think turning every thread into an affordable housing discussion is helpful especially since we already have a thread dedicated to that where that flawed study about residency got exposed as being riddled with errors right after it came out.
Again, Magic if you think GE's collapse is imminent short the stock and make a bundle of money, which you can then use to build affordable housing for the less fortunate. Neither of those actions however belong in this particular thread.
