Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

I took some quick pictures earlier today at Gilman Sq, Magoun Sq, Ball Sq, and Tufts.

Starting with Gilman Sq station, here it is from the School St bridge:

And a few of Magoun Sq station:

Next up, Ball Sq station, from a few angles (the first photo is from the Broadway bridge; the last photo is from behind the new substation building (you can see the building in the first photo); the other photos in between):

And, finally, Medford/Tufts station.

First, the crossovers before the station (with "cut out" signs next to the catenary for the crossovers):

Next, the station itself, from the pedestrian bridge next to the College Ave bridge (featuring a Commuter Rail train for extra fun):

And, finally, a shot of the end of the line (unlike at Union Sq, the tracks here go a bit further past the Medford/Tufts station):

Considering that they're still powered on, I suspect that wasn't intentional.
I believe these are actually out. This intersection has been (at least temporarily) decommissioned pending the new configuration with N First linking up with Cambridge St in the final alignment.

Couple of things to point out:
1. crosswalk is gone/ blacked out with trash bags over the crossing signals
2. There's a temporary sign for the now permanent no left turn from O'Brien southbound onto East St as in it's final configuration it only flows out of Northpoint.
3. A new mast for southbound traffic is to be installed about 50 ft southbound of that one on the pile. It's to be placed on the triangular island splitting Cambridge St @ O'Brien according to the approved design plans:

Seems pretty wide, but the road just zig zags all over the place, and no consistent bike lanes on both sides. What gives?

It looks like the the only bike lane is on the left and it expands into a two-way bike path for a short stretch (forcing the road to shift like that) where the Community Path needs briefly share the road before crossing the street to continue on along the GLX corridor. Assuming there is some physical component separating the two-way bike lane from vehicular traffic, the lane shift should be a pretty good traffic calming element (which will help people in the crosswalk), but bike lanes on both sides would have been nice.

Was that generator placement really never explored as potentially in the way of the bike path??
