I could have sworn I remember the proposal being to convert this bridge into a pedestrian-only something-or-other.Lane markings were painted on the Medford St. bridge this afternoon. Is this the sign we've been waiting for?
Why they get rid of the stop lights?
Considering that they're still powered on, I suspect that wasn't intentional. Why they get rid of the stop lights?
I believe these are actually out. This intersection has been (at least temporarily) decommissioned pending the new configuration with N First linking up with Cambridge St in the final alignment.Considering that they're still powered on, I suspect that wasn't intentional.
The traffic engineer had too much coffee that day.Seems pretty wide, but the road just zig zags all over the place, and no consistent bike lanes on both sides. What gives?
It looks like the the only bike lane is on the left and it expands into a two-way bike path for a short stretch (forcing the road to shift like that) where the Community Path needs briefly share the road before crossing the street to continue on along the GLX corridor. Assuming there is some physical component separating the two-way bike lane from vehicular traffic, the lane shift should be a pretty good traffic calming element (which will help people in the crosswalk), but bike lanes on both sides would have been nice.Seems pretty wide, but the road just zig zags all over the place, and no consistent bike lanes on both sides.
