I was in Haverhill MA and noticed a new parking garage. It has been being worked on for a long time, I had just never noticed it before.

It is next to teh MBTA station in Haverhill.

They have this on the cities site

But I can not find any updates online. I think it is site #2 where it is being built. It looks pretty much done.
 
Don't mean to hijack your thread, but also about Haverhill.

Boston.com's "House of the week" is from Haverhill and I think it's pretty cool. A ~1790 "double saltbox" home.

The Carr-John Estabrook house, built by the Estabrooks, is a double saltbox where many of the original ceiling beams are still exposed. It is part of Rocks Village, a National Historic District, an assemblage of houses and outbuildings that was settled along the banks of the Merrimack River as early as 1640.

Interesting stuff, both in the downtown area as far as I can tell, although I haven't been recently. Anyone know of anything else going on?

Vargas Economic Development Amendment Earmarks $8 Million for Downtown Haverhill

The $8 million was set aside for the “Downtown Merrimack Street Redevelopment Project” and covers public costs surrounding Lupoli Companies’ project on a 4.5-acre parcel that includes the existing Herbert H. Goecke Jr. Memorial Parking Deck. Lupoli was selected as developer by the city and will build 370 residential units in five separate buildings, 51,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space and a 616-space replacement parking garage.

In response to an RFP distributed by the City of Haverhill, PRO has released plans for the redevelopment of the parking deck located at 86 Merrimack Street in Downtown Haverhill. Plans call for a mixed-use development featuring 51,000 SF of retail space and 370 residential units in a new neighborhood district.

We’re redeveloping our dilapidated old factory building into Oxford Crossing Village Center. This will be a unique, walkable gathering place with a fun social environment, consisting of our new restaurant and an outdoor patio, a bakery and gourmet market, two boutique retail spaces and 230 residential units,” she said.

Plans originally called for 270 units, but were reduced to avoid any wetlands conflicts. The housing is to be built within a six-story residential building. There will also be 3,000 square feet of retail, a 1,200 square-foot-bakery and a 200-seat restaurant.

“The Procopio Companies, a real estate development and construction management firm, has successfully closed the equity raise for The Beck, a mixed-use project in Haverhill, MA.

The Beck development will feature a five-story, 290-unit mixed-use multifamily building with retail space and will be located adjacent to the Bradford Station along the MBTA Commuter Rail. Additionally, a new 1.4-acre public waterfront park with amenities, including an amphitheater, playground, and splashpad, as well as a 1,700-foot-long riverwalk, will be constructed as part of the project.

Boston Andes Capital, a private equity real estate investment firm, assisted the Procopio team in achieving this milestone. Construction is already underway, with an estimated completion date in April 2025.”

Thats awesome. Speaking of historic new england artifacts one thing most people dont realize is that the stone walls that criss cross across the entire region are the largest man made structures on earth. The walls are estimated to cover a few hundred thousand miles. Im surprised theyre not a bigger attraction, but most people just think they exist everywhere but they dont. Hopefully in time we start to appreciate them more, they could definitely become a tourist attraction in their own right. Salem nh even has its own stone henge built by the native people of the region.

RISE Reaches 80% Multifamily Project Completion in downtown Haverhill


“BOSTON, MA – RISE, a Boston-based minority owned developer and construction firm, has reached 80% project completion at 86 Essex Street in downtown Haverhill, MA.
The residential project, known as the ‘Essex St. Lofts’, is a restoration of a 7-story industrial building in the downtown area. The team recently completed the replacement of 210 windows on the historic façade, and has moved to the next phase of renovating the interior.

Built in 1910, the building has been underutilized for many years. It’s one of the last remaining, undeveloped mill structures in downtown Haverhill. The 2,224 sf mixed-use project is consistent with the building stock and reuse of mill structures in the surrounding neighborhood and represents the opportunity to have an infill, mixed use project that will serve to bring additional stability to the area by improving conditions and property values.
