Infill and Small Developments | Portland

I'm hoping someone gives the wooden eyesore to the left some love in the near future, a brick facade would be great!

Hopefully the value of Dogecoin will rap

I actually love that building! Gives the area an old wharf feel

When we were settng up Auto Europe we had a lot of lunches from Erasmo's, which was there before Benkay.

Avesta's new 40 unit project in Nason's Corner is now complete with residents moving in.

This went up quick, and it's a nice addition to a predominantly flat suburban area.

Fairly substantial building proposed for 33-37 Montreal St. Didn't watch the meeting, but PB voted to table the app until the 9/29 meeting.

I don't have photos, but the Econo Lodge on John Roberts Rd. in South Portland (behind J.C. Penney) has gotten a major makeover, and while it's not reopened yet it is now signed as the "Casco Bay Hotel". Unfortunately for them, searching for that name just finds the Casco Bay Inn in Freeport so they may want to try again.

Changing the name may also prevent certain client exchanges: "where's the bay?" "well if you can find your way back to 295..."

The former Econo Lodge, soon to be the Casco Bay Hotel, on John Roberts Rd. behind the Mall...

I think this really stretches the limits of the term "makeover" since it's really an entirely new build :p

Definitely an improvement over the old structure though. That econolodge was a dump.

I think some of the rooms may have views of a branch of Long Creek out back; maybe they were counting that? 😀
And I think it might be a makeover, in the sense that I don't think they actually tore the old building down; I think they redid the whole thing and added two stories. Maybe there was a wetland restriction and they were grandfathered if they didn't tear it down?
