Insiders' Tips Needed about the Freedom Trail

Isn't being crappy and rude Durgin Park's very schtick?

Are you mixing it up with Dicks Last Resort (tacked on the exterior of Quincy Market) across from Durgin Park?

Hi everyone,

I'm confused (again) and I'm hoping you all might help. It's about the site of the Liberty Tree...where is it? I walked the trail and missed it somehow. I know it's not right on the trail, and I know it's at the corner of Washington and Essex (?) Streets, but is it still the Motor Vehicle building? Also, is the plaque that's in the sidewalk near there? Thanks...

Seeing the picture^^^ reminds me how much I dislike the renovation of that building. Was all the surface decoration (pediments, etc.) gone before the renovation? I just don't remember back then, as my gaze was always directed streetward rather than up.

Okay, thanks! :) I saw that picture at Celebrate Boston web site, but I wasn't sure if that was a recent picture? Does it still look like that does anyone know?

Yes, and it still has the Registry of Motor Vehicles office. When the RMV moved there, it was a Big Deal for the neighborhood, as that building had previously been quite dilapidated and filled with X-rated businesses.
