Have Fun! ~ C

Exciting stuff! Would be cool if the woonerf planned as part of this project could connect to the shared street proposed in what I believe we’re referring to as the 196 Lancaster project.

Thanks!!! only if Midtown was still alive and kicking... what a neighborhood it would be...

Looks great, a big improvement over the current junkyard, thats for sure!

Is this another proposed non-RedFern development, or a massing for a potential phase later on?

Game changer for the long neglected backside of downtown. The density of the skyline when viewed from 295 will be impressive from either direction! Oh, can't forget about adding apartments for up to 750 new residents who will dine, shop and add vibrancy to the downtown peninsula. :)

Very much looking forward to watching these designs progress - for what it's worth I like the concept of the rounded edges in the brick building. Would like to see something other than brick, though 😬

@Redfern, the Kennebec Block is very exciting and looks so great – love the scale, the materials and the proposed finishes; and the updated renderings for Washington Street / The Tavata are looking soooo good! The Redfern portfolio really has a cohesive sophistication with contextual variety that makes it a strong and admired brand.

Imagine how cool it would be to have the Kennebec Block, Roux Institute, Herald Square, Canal Plaza tower, Portland Foreside, Lancaster/Elm Street project, Portland Museum of Art expansion and the rehab of 465 Congress Street and the Time & Temperature Building all happening within a few years of each other! Have kind of given up on Portland Square, did I miss anything else?

Don't forget Tavata! https://www.redfernproperties.com/home/tavata

My bad Max! Also forgot about this Commercial Street condo building and the WEX project on Thames Street.

Actually, maybe I'm not anti-brick, but just red brick. The Tavata renderings look really good!

I was on the Planning committee that involved the parking garage the city wants built. Could Redfern offer to take ownership of the garage, the money is set aside.

This portion of the block is actually owned by Revler / Port Properties and is included in their Bayside Master Development Plan. I assume there is some kind of ongoing discussion between Redfern and Revler regarding either the sale or joint development of this portion of the block. ...Which is why they say "two or more buildings"

Redfern is somewhat single handedly fixing the housing crisis in Portland 👏 The city appears to be picking-up development steam again and I can see a notably better outlook for the economy. And single-family home prices are going to continue to rise steadily. Portland has recently won two notable "Most livable cities in the U.S." distinctions. I travel all over the U.S. and what I love about Portland are the four distinct seasons and recreational options and proximity to Boston (the future center of tech and education in the U.S.). Buy real estate here, especially land. Here's a factoid: Maine is one of the five places in the world where you can ski and surf in the same day traveling by car (April). I've done it, though in Southern California. Promote that one.
