kz's Wanderings Around Greater Boston

That looks like they should be able to update it while keeping the exterior as it is. But that's definitely dank, in the original sense of the word.

I started playing around with the generative AI function that's now in Photoshop and it's pretty darn good. All I've used it for is to remove power lines, which is something that you could do before with some skill and patience, but AI now makes much faster and easier.

It isn't perfect, but the thing is you can keep hitting "generate" and it'll create new iterations for as long as you want. Conversely, I'm not looking for perfection and I don't mind if these early AI attempts have some telltale seams and jankyness here and there.

If ONLY it was so easy in real life!!!!! Overhead utilities are so ugly in my opinion, and Europe plus many other locations, bury them out of site. I wish they were all underground in the USA.

The people demanded it and I'm here to supply. I'm averaging one unit a year here, and this one had all the original cabinetry.

The realtor said these were original but I'm not sure I believe that... they look less like 1966 and more like 1976 or even early eighties to me

I've been watching way too many Bright Sun Films abandoned Orlando hotel videos recently, and the exterior of that place totally gives that vibe. The photo with the ducks nails it.

Meanwhile, the interior just reminds me of my Nana's place at 1000 Southern Artery in the late '80s/early '90s.

Carpeted kitchen.. what could go wrong. At least the bathroom wasn't carpeted.

Agree about the mid-late 70's. The landscaping gives me Florida in Boston vibes.

I'm no interior expert, but I do adore Mid-century Modern and am not a fan of 1970s Postmodern design interiors. One of the hallmarks of Postmodern cabinets are beveled door edges, like you can clearly see here. The subway tile is also Folksy Gold or some other close tone. I'm guessing the cabinet frames and Formica countertops are original but the cabinet doors, cabinet laminating, and kitchen backstop are all 70s updates.

Mid summer check-in.... nothing too special, a lot of aerials apparently

Shot a condo on the edge of Roxbury Friday. A nice appealing ground level space except for the fact it's just this one room AND all the wastewater pipes from the upper floors are right there along the ceiling, so you hear every sink/shower/toilet doing its thing :poop:

Hell yes! That place in Lincoln is awesome! I wouldn't change a thing about it. Is the pool area the only "man cave" space in it?

Yes, pretty much! It's a standalone structure from 2008, so it missed its chance to get bedecked and bejeweled in all sorts of overstuffed frippery :p

I absolutely fell in love with this house the more I got to know it. This is a 1987 Maine post and beam with some telltale postmodernist touches here and there (mainly in the bathrooms). The layout is still quite modern, the build quality was impeccable and it's yours for a cool $1.85 mil!

@Arenacale, this one's for you 🥂

Glorious! I don't know what the bigger flex is - the 4 person jacuzzi (who needs that in a master bath?), or the sink in the kitchen island.

Someone should stage one of these 80s vintage houses with a gigantic CRT TV, VCR, and Hi-fi setup.
