Man I love these conversions. Loft apartments have to be my favorite type too.

I know what to think, and it goes something like: "Buzz. Your girlfriend. Woof!"

I'm glad they're repurposing the church, but my God, it's awful.

Yea that thing is going to end up Internet famous for how bad it is. Also, it barely shares anything in common with the renders they have of this thing. You know, at least put windows in that front facade rather than bricking them over?

There are two former churches in Boston that got similar, but much higher quality, treatment. It’s like a weird architectural cancer, which only afflicts houses of worship.

Could be salvageable if the Home Depot siding is replaced with something higher quality, and windows in the front brick as originally promised

Drove through Lawrence today, and wow, the downtown is gentrifying quickly and looks a lot livelier than it was before Covid. Took some pictures of a few active/recent constructions. Nice to see 3 Elementary schools under construction at the same time.

Didn't get a picture but Lawrence Catholic Academy (K-8) is also under construction.

“Work is underway for the expanded building of the Esperanza Academy, a tuition-free independent school for first-generation girls, in Lawrence. Their new, expanded campus will increase their programs to serve kindergarten through grade eight. The new space will feature classroom and STEM areas, movement and performance space, a bodega, a teaching kitchen, dining space, music and art therapy spaces, and space for their graduate program.”

If you haven’t been to Lawrence in a while there is now a giant football field located on top of a parking garage, bookended by a new commercial building right up against some giant mills in the south millyard courtesy of Sal Lupoli who owns and has redeveloped most of the real estate in the area. Took a stroll around Saturday.

A few shots from around the Downtown/Millyard area. The millyard is compact and seems reasonably undisturbed. Also very walkable to Downtown and the train station. Some of the mill have been refurbished, but potential for a lot more renovations —
