This is a true statement, but I don't think anyone (even the most strident community activists that undermined the Dainty Dot project) would suggest that One Franklin is "in" or "close enough" to Chinatown to have a seriously adverse impact on the neighborhood's character.
There ought to be protests in front of the sandbox that used to be the Gaiety Theatre. That's infinitely more damaging to the quality of life in Chinatown.
I do agree that Boston needs some sort of adult entertainment district, if we expect to have a sustainable convention-driven component to our economy. A couple of "classy" places in the Seaport would really do wonders to add some sorely-needed character.
