It blows my mind that anyone on Winter Street [et al.] would balk at this. The remodel of the hospital looks GORGEOUS and the new housing will be attractive. Far better than the parking lot and emergency room entrance. If I had to look out my windows at what was there and what is to come - I'd be happier to see the density, lights in the windows, people in the neighborhood.

Also those Winter Street property values probably increased.

This project does so much for this part of the West End! Winter Street always felt like a dead zone due to it being the "back side" of Mercy Hospital...and the big surface parking lots isolated the West End from State Street. This project ties the neighborhood together and makes Winter Street feel like a proper neighborhood street.
