McGrath highway ain't the most appealing place for a hotel, this is a 6 lane stroad.

At least the new hotel will be right up against the street (O'Brien Hwy) and not set back like a suburban hotel. As such, it will positively contribute to the fledgling urban street wall developing along this side of O'Brien Hwy as it approaches Lechmere Square. A good thing for sure.

According to the ground floor plans and landscape plans (still need to delve into the text), that the Somerville Community Path connection to McGrath and more importantly to the future Grand Junction Bike Path will not be built by the developer? This was previously included in their plans.

What hope do we have of this important connection being built if it isn't built now by this developer?

Indicated very vaguely in circulation+landscape plans:

I'm not how they're going to thread the needle for the bike path connection, but I'm all for it!

I've noticed fencing around the site and some minor work but is this a dead hotel project now?

The old commercial building with the muffler shop and the tropical fish shop has been demolished. Not sure if this one is really progressing or just prepping the site for a flip.

This has been redesigned and rebranded to a Moxy.

As with the version of the project approved in 2023, Applicant will continue to provide space for a 14 foot clear ramp to be built across the Cambridge portion of the property to connect the McGrath/O’Brien Highway with the Community Path Extension via a spur to be constructed on MBTA property at the rear of the site.
