Newer Redesigned Longer Green Line Trollies!

The MBTA is embarking on getting newer longer Green Line trollies, but at a bigger price tag.

These will be about 124 feet long over the present 75-foot ones ones in use now. Some track work will be needed, to be able to accommodate them, such as fewer curves & other things.

The planned target year is about 2028 or so for them to come into revenue service. They will be able to accommodate more passengers, especially during rush hour service. :cool:

I'm not sure if they will be called Type 10s, since they would be longer and hold more people.o
 
It says nothing about them being lengthened. Read it, but this info that I potested is new & was never posted here before. :cool:
 
I posted Commonwealth Magazine's article about this yesterday in the General MBTA thread.
 
I thought that this should have it's own thread, since the MBTA had thought about it. Hopefully, the threads can be combined into one.
